A Safe Transportation Plan is a 'must-have' component of
any House Alcohol Policy and SMART CALL allows licensed establishments
to fulfill this requirement. SMART CALL advances alcohol policy platforms
from reactive to proactive by helping licensed establishments fulfill
their Common Law Duty of Care that has been imposed by the Supreme
Court of Canada; more specifically, to take a proactive approach to
mitigate foreseeable harm created by the intoxication of a patron.
The SMART CALL Program is designed to work with existing policies and programs. It provides an opportunity for licensed establishments to:

The SMART CALL Program helps licensed establishments address the reality that there are 8,000,000 impaired driving trips each year in Canada (TIRF).
